Lambalk Animetions Pty Ltd
Lambalk Animetions Pty Ltd was established as a company in 2008, its main intention is to formally engage and empower the indigenous stakeholders in the control and development of an emerging film project. A project that has its roots in the intellectual cultural property of Indigenous Australia, in this case, via the talents of Paddy Fordham.
What began as a loose partnership between Paddy Fordham (Rembarrnga Tribe, Mirraitjja Clan.) and Michael Bolton (Michael Bolton Fine Art) grew organically as cultural obligations became apparent, especially upon the sad passing of Paddy in June 2006.
Today the company now recognises the following shareholders.
- Michael Bolton
- Paddy Fordham (dec)
- Nancy Warren & children
- David Beswick (dec) & family
- Dick Yuyuna
- Chappy Robinson
- Alice Kelly
- Phillip Ashley
The company also acknowledges the spokesperson & negotiator roles of Milly Sandy & Alfred Rickson on behalf of each of the clans. And Sandra Costales for the Fordham Family.
It is hoped that one day this unique business – family structure will deliver results both tangile and intangile to it members and their extended families in the future.
Part One – "Killing the Cannibal"
The story itself Part One - "Killing the Cannibal", has been inspired by the life and work of Paddy Wainburrnga Fordham. It was Paddys first enthusiastic rendition of Duttungayelele - The Maneater Story to Michael Bolton in 2002, that was to be the spark for this latest Anime manifestation of his story and characters. The setting for the drama is a place called Bamdibu, situated in the remote escarpment country of Central Arnhemland, Northern Territory. This is the homelands that Paddy and the Rembarrnga People have roamed since "…in the beginning" to the present day.
The contemporary rendering of the ancient tale into a draft Manga comic genre was realised by the artistic vision and talents of Cynan Dowling.
Next stage in the work flow will be the recording of a high quality spoken word radio production using voice actors, musicians and sound engineering. This has been tentatively costed at $136 000.
We are currently looking for sources of funding, and/or entrepreneurial spirits or entities willing to facilitate this enterprise in the near future.
